When a referred friend books through the Cal.com scheduler on your website, GrowSurf can add them to your referral program and credit the person who sent them. Cal.com sends the attendee to your thank-you page with their name and email address in the link, and a GrowSurf code block on that page reads them.

You turn on one setting for the event type and paste one code block on your thank-you page. The same setup works for an affiliate program. There, GrowSurf credits each lead to the affiliate who sent it.

The scheduler must be embedded on your own website, and **Redirect on booking** needs a Cal.com Teams plan or higher. The stand-alone cal.com link does not work.

## Integration Steps

### Open the Cal.com setup in GrowSurf

In the Program Editor, go to **Installation** and continue to the step that asks how GrowSurf will know a referred friend signed up. Under *Using a form builder? Prep your form first*, click the Cal.com icon.

The **Prep your form** window opens with Cal.com selected. Keep it open while you work. It lists every step and holds the code you paste later.

### Redirect attendees after they book

In Cal.com, open the event type that is embedded on your website. Open the *Confirmation* tab and turn on **Redirect on booking**. Enter the address of your thank-you page.

Keep **Forward parameters** turned on. That is what puts the attendee’s name and email address in the link. Then click **Save**.

### Paste the GrowSurf code on your thank-you page

Copy the code block from the Prep your form window and paste it anywhere on your thank-you page. When an attendee lands there, the code reads their email address and name from the link and adds them to your program.

### Finish the installation

Back in GrowSurf, choose **Programmatic** as the way GrowSurf will know a referred friend signed up. Then finish the remaining installation steps.

## Tips

#### Test it with a real referral link

Open your own referral link in a private browser window, then fill out the form. The new person should show up in GrowSurf as referred by you. Visiting the form directly does not add anyone, so test through a referral link.

#### Confirm the booking on your page

A redirect replaces Cal.com’s own confirmation page. Tell attendees their booking is confirmed on your thank-you page so they are not left guessing.

## FAQ

#### Will an embedded scheduler redirect inside the embed?

No. Cal.com sends the whole page to your thank-you page, even from an embed.

#### Which booking details does GrowSurf use?

The attendee’s email address and name. If names are missing for people who booked, copy the code from GrowSurf again and replace the old one on your thank-you page.

#### Will people who were not referred be added?

No. The code adds someone only when GrowSurf can tell who referred them. A visitor who found your Cal.com form on their own is not added to your program.
