GrowSurf keeps a GetResponse list current. Each participant’s referral link, referral counts, referrer details, and milestone progress arrive as custom fields you can use in newsletters and autoresponders alike.

Connecting is an authorization, so there is no API key to store or rotate.

## Integration Steps

### Authorize GetResponse

Open **Program Editor > 4. Options > Integrations** and search for GetResponse.

Expand the card and select **Connect to GetResponse**.

Log in and authorize GrowSurf.

### Choose the list

Pick the GetResponse list GrowSurf should keep current. Contacts are added or updated there whenever someone joins your program or gets referred.

Connect before importing participants; the sync covers people added from that point on. If they are already in the program, use the [existing-participant sync options](https://support.growsurf.com/article/385-how-can-i-sync-my-growsurf-participants-to-my-esp).

GetResponse uses double square brackets. Use the tags exactly as shown in your message content.

## Tips

#### Pick the list your referral emails actually use

GrowSurf writes to one list. Pointing it at a list you never send from means the fields exist but never get read.

#### Fields work in autoresponders too

An autoresponder a week after signup is usually a better referral prompt than a one-off newsletter.

#### Connect before the first import

The sync is forward-looking and will not backfill on its own.
