With GrowSurf syncing into a MailerLite Group, each subscriber’s referral link and progress are fields. One campaign then covers the whole Group, each reader seeing their own link.

MailerLite variables take the form `{$name}`. The dollar sign is part of the syntax, not decoration.

## Integration Steps

### Confirm the fields are populated

The MailerLite API key field in the GrowSurf Program EditorMailerLite lives in Program Editor > 4. Options > Integrations.

Open a synced subscriber in MailerLite and check the GrowSurf fields before building the campaign.

### Show the link, do not hide it in a button

Use `{$grsf_share_url}` as both the href and the visible text. Readers copy URLs they can see.

### Add progress for people who have some

`{$grsf_total_referral_count}` and `{$grsf_next_milestone}` personalize the ask. Keep the sentence readable for a subscriber at zero, because most of the Group is.

### Reuse it in an automation

The same variables work in MailerLite automation emails. A referral prompt a week after signup keeps working without you sending anything again.

## Tips

#### Keep the dollar sign

`{$grsf_share_url}`. Without `$` the variable renders as plain text.

#### Referral status has an unusual name

In MailerLite it is `{$grsf_participant_referral_status}`. Copy it from the table rather than guessing from the other fields.

#### Test against a synced subscriber

A preview using an address outside the Group resolves nothing.
